Following the seizure of several large quantities of industrial hemp at airports and at the German border during transit: Air freight and transport of industrial hemp flowers, regardless of the THC content, should under no circumstances be carried out via Germany; transit via Autobahn or the usual logistics routes and logistics hubs such as Frankfurt, Cologne, and Leipzig must be avoided at all costs!
Due to the 2024 change in the law, it is currently not possible to carry out such hemp transits through Germany under the KCanG or MedCanG, as the General Customs Directorate has just confirmed to our office. This particularly affects shipments that move industrial hemp flowers between jurisdictions where products with a THC content of up to 1% can be legally distributed, e.g., from Oregon/USA to Switzerland, or from the Czech Republic to Italy, but also for very low THC biomass.
If the cargo is seized, this will inevitably lead to criminal proceedings being initiated in Germany.
Also: do not enter Germany with Cannabis for personal or medical purposes, unless you have a valid Art. 75 Schengen declaration with you. Without this declaration it would be an illegal import, even if below 25g!
