Public hearing „Cannabis“ in the BT health committee on March 15, 2023

On 15th of March 2023 I had the honor to take part in a Bundestag hearing in Berlin on a draft law for immediate decriminilsation of cannabis consumers, which we drafted originally with LEAP Deutschland e.V.
I pointed out in my 3 minutes that an immediate decriminalization can be decided in conformity with international law and EU law, till the full commercial route will be implemented. Furthermore, that a considerable relief of police and judiciary will take place, and that health protection can also be ensured by home growing and CSC’s, as they don’t poison their products for themselves or their members. In addition, decriminalization in itself is health protection, since the psychological burden of criminal prosecution will be stopped, and social participation in society and at work is ensured.

Am 15. März 2023 hatte ich die Ehre, an einer Bundestagsanhörung in Berlin zum Gesetzentwurf zur sofortigen Entkriminalisierung von Cannabiskonsumenten teilzunehmen, den wir ursprünglich mit LEAP Deutschland e.V. erarbeitet haben.
In meinen 3 Minuten habe ich darauf hingewiesen, dass bis zur Einführung der vollständigen Legalisierung eine sofortige Entkriminalisierung völkerrechtskonform und EU-rechtskonform beschlossen werden kann. Weiterhin, dass eine erhebliche Entlastung von Polizei und Justiz stattfinden wird, und dass der Gesundheitsschutz auch durch Eigenanbau und CSC’s gewährleistet werden kann, da sie ihre Produkte nicht für sich oder ihre Mitglieder strecken werden. Darüber hinaus ist die Entkriminalisierung an sich schon ein Gesundheitsschutz, da die psychische Belastung durch die Strafverfolgung entfällt und die soziale Teilhabe in der Gesellschaft und am Arbeitsleben gewährleistet wird.
